The Weekend Edition No.26

NAME:

Zach

DIET:

Peanut-free with a little too much Chipotle. Throwing in a quick brag that I finally made sambusas last night from scratch (an East-African fried and filled dough packet, similar to a samosa). I’ve had them before at school events and have wanted to try my hand for a while – they turned out amazing!

WORKPLACE:

I teach middle school math at a charter school in Minneapolis!

BEST PART OF YOUR WORK:

The students, hands down. Middle school energy can be so ridiculous sometimes and they need a lot of help staying on track, but they can be so damn cute sometimes. I’ve had many of my kids for two years now and it’s amazing to see how much they’ve grown in such a little time. There’s a lot of love there.

DRINK OF CHOICE:

Vodka soda.

FASHION STYLE:

A colleague once described the dress code for a work event as “snappy casual” and I’m shooting for that every day now.

WHERE DO YOU PLAY:

Your local coffee shop and/or gay club. Currently any Spyhouse in the Twin Cities, Lush, Saloon, and the Gay 90s. Also the Minneapolis Institute of Art because it’s free and beautiful!

SOUNDTRACK TO YOUR LIFE:

An arbitrary blend of Sam Hunt, Ariana Grande, Troye Sivan, and Taeyeon.

YOU GOT 3 WISHES. WHAT DO YOU WISH FOR:

  1. An immediate, well-executed political response to climate change. (“But Zach, why not wish for climate change to end?” “I don’t trust genies, I feel like that’s how you accidentally eradicate the human race.”)
  2. A great metabolism with no food intolerance.
  3. Is wishing for more wishes kosher?
